Senior Civil / Highway Technician

RPS Group is currently in search of a skilled Senior Civil / Highway Technician to enhance our innovative business and support our clientele. This position will be part of the infrastructure division, focusing on projects related to Aviation or Highways.

About RPS Group:

The RPS Design Division executes projects across various specialized sectors, including Aviation, Highways, Civil Engineering, Structures, and Architecture. We aim to strike the right balance between aesthetics and functionality while addressing sustainability, material selection, cost, and buildability challenges. Our digital approach is central to our delivery model, enabling clients and stakeholders to engage with our designs from the conceptual phase. With decades of experience across multiple industries and disciplines, we assist clients in aligning design objectives through innovative engineering, architecture, and development services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the creation of 3D models utilizing Civil 3D software.
  • Transform 3D drawings into comprehensive designs.
  • Act as the project lead, efficiently coordinating the generation of detailed drawings and specifications, applying expert technical knowledge in accordance with relevant regulations and industry standards.
  • Collaborate on design models, calculations, and sketches with various design disciplines.
  • Assist in supervising drawing production and ensure quality assurance of colleagues' work.
  • Participate in the evaluation of design proposals from consultants and contractors.
  • Manage document uploads and downloads within document management systems.
  • Comply with BIM protocols and office drawing standards.
  • Engage in project and technical meetings.
  • Conduct site inspections and perform surveys as necessary.
Candidate Profile:

The ideal candidate will have experience in the Aviation or Highways sector and possess a HND qualification.

Additional Qualifications:
  • Proficient in developing Civil 3D models and extracting sections and quantities from these models.
  • Experienced in CAD drawing, 3D modeling, and BIM coordination.
  • Able to utilize relevant design analysis software.
  • Demonstrate technical knowledge of applicable legislation and standards.
  • Exhibit commercial awareness and understanding of time and budget considerations.
