Software Deployment Engineer

Role Overview

As a Software Deployment Engineer at Qualitrol Company, you will play a critical role in ensuring the successful design and deployment of customised, multifunctional Condition Based Maintenance (CBM) Systems to electrical utilities and industrial customers worldwide.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with internal teams and external customers to implement software configurations for CBM System design.
  • Deliver and support the expansion of Qualitrol's software products to customers.
  • Acquire in-depth knowledge of each CBM system's overview, including software and underlying communications infrastructures.
  • Provide feedback and log new feature requests for product management.
  • Complete configuration analysis & debugging of deployments.
  • Support software deployment and successful commissioning until sign-off.
  • Develop, implement, and test configuration that binds disparate elements into a homogeneous CBM system.
  • Perform analytical reviews, recommend, and implement corrective actions for exceptional conditions.
  • Monitor and analyse previous projects to ensure customer platform usability.
  • Assist Field Service colleagues during commissioning and post-commissioning of CBM systems.
  • Provide support to internal and external customers for CBM system queries and resolving issues.
  • Support regional sales interaction with customers and participate in regional marketing initiatives.

Requirements

  • Computer Science or Engineering degree or similar.
  • Proven track record of developing and deploying commercial software to customers.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Capability of working with customers on integration and challenges.
  • Knowledge of protocols such as Modbus, 61850, DNP, SOAP, etc.
  • Intermediate level TSQL experience and basic PowerShell scripting.
  • Use of CAD packages for 2D drawings.
  • Ability to interpret electrical and mechanical schematics.
  • Integration of IED's & SCADA / CBM systems and configuration of Windows 10 / Server / Linux OS.
  • Interfacing to sensors and transducers; RS485, 4-20mA.
  • Extensible Markup Language (XML).
  • Strong understanding of networks and security.

Working Conditions

  • Fast-paced office and manufacturing facility environment.
  • Occasional working outside of UK business hours to support international customers.
  • Occasional travel to other Qualitrol sites / customer locations.
