Job Title: Mental Health Practitioner

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Mental Health Practitioner to join our team at Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust. As a Mental Health Practitioner, you will play a vital role in supporting adults with severe mental health problems, including anxiety, depression, and psychosis.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Develop and practice psychologically-informed interventions under supervision, working directly with adults in the community.
  • Support collaborative care planning, alongside other members of the multi-disciplinary team.
  • Work closely alongside a team of mental health professionals to deliver a set of brief wellbeing-focused psychologically informed interventions.

Person Specification:
  • Bachelor's degree at 2:2 in any subject for entry to Postgraduate route OR Evidence of ability to study successfully at academic Level 5 for entry to the Graduate Certificate route.
  • Sufficient numeracy and literacy to meet the requirements of the course, for example, Maths and English at Grade 4 and above.
  • Experience of analysing and communicating complex information verbally and in writing.
  • Lived experience of mental health issues/difficulties.
Skills:
  • Ability to challenge poor behaviour/Role modelling good behaviour.
  • A positive attitude and able to act on feedback/Able to make good use of clinical supervision in a group and/or individual format.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English in both verbal and written formats.
  • IT Skills - able to use basic computer skills to collect, collate and report on client's progress on a daily basis.
