Job Description:

**Business Development Manager**

**About the Role:**

We are seeking an ambitious and mechanically-minded sales professional to drive new business and maximize current opportunities for our client, a reputable subcontract manufacturing company.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Plan, manage, and interact with existing and new customers to identify and capitalize on business opportunities.
  • Conduct market research to stay up-to-date on industry trends and competitor activity.
  • Assist in the production of technical quotations and proposals.
  • Visit customers to assess their needs and identify potential opportunities.
  • Demonstrate the company's technical capabilities and services.
  • Utilize CRM and ERP systems to manage customer relationships and sales activities.
  • Develop and expand the UK sales territory, targeting new industry sectors and opportunities.

**Requirements:**

  • Technical and commercial acumen within a subcontract engineering environment.
  • Proven track record of servicing technically challenging industrial environments, such as automation, energy, automotive, rail, defense, and construction.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with customers and stakeholders.
  • Ability to initiate customer contact and generate technical enquiries, with a commitment to follow through to execution.
  • Experience in internal sales, inside sales, sales management, or business development within a manufacturing environment.

**What We Offer:**

  • Competitive salary range of £50-60k, depending on experience.
  • Attractive commission structure.
  • £6k car allowance.
