M&E Quantity Surveyor Job Description

James Lewis Recruitment is seeking an experienced M&E Quantity Surveyor to join a well-established M&E Contractor. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the M&E sector and a proven track record of reviewing technical drawings for variations, valuations, and take-offs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage feasibility studies to estimate materials, time, and labour costs
  • Act as a single point of contact to understand project commercial needs and propose solutions
  • Manage cost throughout project stages through to financial close and during construction
  • Assist with cost evaluation, procurement, and variation advice
  • Accurately report and monitor project costs and cash flow
  • Handle procurement of sub-contractor packages and present selection for approval
  • Review project variations and claims
  • Minimise cost and enhance value for money while achieving required standards and quality
  • Monitor project costs and cash flow, including preliminaries and reviewing invoices
  • Prepare monthly client applications for payments and follow through to receipt of client certificate
  • Assess sub-contractor applications for payments
Requirements:
  • Degree or relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying/Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum 3-10 years professional experience in the M&E sector
  • Strong analytical, communication, and team management skills
  • Good attitude to work and high level of professionalism
  • Proficiency in MS Office, specifically MS Excel

The client is open to both Intermediate and Senior level applicants. Regrettably, we can only accept applications from candidates with a strong background specifically in M&E as opposed to just general construction experience.
