M&E Quantity Surveyor Job Description

James Lewis Recruitment is seeking an experienced M&E Quantity Surveyor to join a well-established M&E Contractor. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in M&E Quantity Surveying and a minimum of 3-10 years of professional experience in the industry.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage feasibility studies to estimate materials, time, and labour costs
  • Act as a single point of contact to understand project commercial needs and propose solutions
  • Manage costs throughout project stages and during construction
  • Assist with cost evaluation, procurement, and variation advice
  • Accurately report and monitor costs to ensure accurate monthly forecasting and cost reporting
  • Handle procurement of sub-contractor packages and present selection for approval
  • Review project variations and claims
  • Minimise costs and enhance value for money while achieving required standards and quality
  • Monitor project costs and cash flow, including preliminaries and reviewing invoices
  • Prepare monthly client applications for payments and follow through to receipt of client certificate
  • Assess sub-contractor applications for payments to ensure fair valuation

The successful candidate will have a degree or relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying or Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. Strong analytical, communication, and team management skills are essential, along with a good attitude to work and a high level of professionalism. Proficiency in MS Office, specifically MS Excel, is also required.

The client is open to both Intermediate and Senior level applicants. Regrettably, we can only accept applications from candidates with a strong background specifically in M&E as opposed to just general construction experience.
