Project Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a talented Project Engineer to join our team at Wolviston Management Services Ltd. This is a full-time permanent role based in Sunderland or Adlington, offering an attractive salary and benefits package.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the technical aspects of engineering projects, ensuring all tasks align with safety and legal requirements. Key responsibilities include:

  1. Managing scope, cost, and delivery of engineering projects
  2. Coordinating with engineers, functional managers, and subcontractors
  3. Acting as the primary technical liaison with customers
  4. Interpreting client requirements and ensuring clear documentation
  5. Overseeing the creation and maintenance of project specifications and data sheets
  6. Conducting regular design gap analysis
  7. Preparing detailed engineering design briefs and scope of work documents
  8. Handling subcontract and major component procurement
  9. Reviewing design outputs for compliance with project requirements
  10. Addressing any engineering non-conformance or change requests
  11. Participating in project reviews and presenting engineering elements
  12. Ensuring adherence to safety regulations and conducting risk assessments
  13. Managing documentation for CE/UKCA marking

Essential qualifications include:

  1. Time served Apprenticeship or NVQ L3 (or equivalent) in mechanical or electrical engineering
  2. Demonstrable experience in a similar role
  3. Knowledge of change management and process controls
  4. Ability to interpret customer specifications and standards
  5. Experience in an engineering environment with technical writing skills
  6. Proficiency in Microsoft Office
