About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Renal Nursing Specialist to join our team at Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust. As a Band 6 Specialist Sister, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our renal nursing services.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement effective care plans for patients with renal conditions, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care delivery.
- Provide expert guidance and support to junior staff members, promoting a culture of learning and development within the team.
- Contribute to the development of innovative practice and service improvements, ensuring that our renal nursing services remain at the forefront of best practice.
- Collaborate with colleagues to identify and address areas for improvement, driving quality and excellence in patient care.
- Participate in research and audit activities, contributing to the advancement of renal nursing knowledge and practice.
Requirements
- Registered nurse with a first-level degree in nursing or working towards.
- Recognized teaching or mentorship qualification.
- Post-registration qualification relevant to specialty - Renal Course.
- Advanced assessment skills or willingness to undertake.
- Substantial post-registration experience in renal nursing or peritoneal dialysis.
- Experience of teaching junior members of staff, mentoring, and assessing student nurses on placement.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
- Masters degree or working towards.
- Previous experience of research and audit.
- Undertaken nurse-led clinics.
- Experience of developing innovative practice and managing change.
