Job Title: Consultant Nephrologist

This is a 10 PA post for a substantive consultant nephrologist to support the existing innovative clinical and academic programme in chronic kidney disease, community-based kidney care, renal transplantation and dialysis across the North Central London sector.

Main Duties:
  • Two specialist clinics: one in chronic transplant and the other may vary according to the specialist interests of the appointee.
  • Care for a dialysis cohort of 40-50 patients including a weekly clinic and monthly MDT and ward round.
  • Provision of virtual kidney care consultations.
  • A commitment to the 1:9 consultant of the week nephrology and renal transplant on call rota at the Royal Free Hospital.
  • Attendance at weekly X-ray meeting, renal pathology meeting and academic afternoon at RFH.
  • Support of IPC and antimicrobial stewardship activities.
  • Supervision and training of specialty trainees, clinical scientists and others as appropriate.
  • Undergraduate teaching programme.
  • Clinical audit and quality improvement.
  • Service development and policy review.
  • CPD and quality assurance activity including annual appraisal and revalidation.
