Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Materials Management Specialist to become a key member of our dynamic team. In this role, you will report directly to the Procurement Operations Team Leader and play a vital role in ensuring the seamless operation of our material control processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the timely delivery of essential materials to manufacturing and supply chain operations.
- Engage with internal stakeholders, including participation in production meetings.
- Enhance and maintain high levels of internal customer satisfaction.
- Address and resolve any discrepancies related to receipts, non-conformance, and other logistical challenges.
- Foster strong partnerships with key suppliers and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Meet specific performance targets set by the organization, aligning with customer expectations.
- Continuously monitor supplier performance and implement corrective actions as necessary.
- Streamline internal processes to minimize waste and enhance efficiency.
- Collaborate with procurement and inventory teams to maintain effective supplier relationships and optimal inventory levels.
Essential Qualifications:
- A level qualification (or equivalent) in a relevant field.
- Proven experience in material control within a manufacturing context.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical, presentation, and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficient in time management and prioritization.
- Meticulous attention to detail with a logical approach to analysis.
- Advanced IT proficiency.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Familiarity with SAP/MRP systems.
- Understanding of the rail industry, both in the UK and internationally.
