Mechanical Project Manager

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to join our team at Hays Construction and Property. As a Mechanical Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing mechanical projects from tender to completion, ensuring that they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:- Attend post-tender/pre-contract review meetings with clients and main contractors to discuss and agree contract scope, commercial, and contractual matters.
- Post-contract award, carry out initial equipment checks alongside our design team and advise the design team of any concerns to avoid procurement, programming, or financial implications later.
- Develop equipment procurement and buying schedules for allocated contracts, along with sending out enquiries to suppliers and subcontractors based on received contract documents for completeness and better buying purposes.
- Place subcontract and material orders to satisfy the requirements of our contracts, ensuring technical, programme, cost, and quality compliances.
- Monitor site labour and keep a record of site activities, numbers of operatives/sub-contractors on site, and cost checks against tender estimates.
- Experience as a Mechanical Project Manager from a Building Services background.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and project management software.
- Salary: £60,000 - £70,000 depending on experience.
- Office working hours: Monday to Friday inclusive (apply online only) with 1 hour lunch break.
- Holidays: 24 days plus 8 days statutory leave per annum.
- Company car: Typically BMW 3 series Hybrid for both business and reasonable private mileage.
- Auto-enrol government pension.
- Discretionary bonus paid at Christmas plus £250 Amazon voucher (minimum).
- Training provided/CIBSE accreditation paid by the company.
