Senior Project Engineering Manager

Job OverviewWe are seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Engineering Manager to join our team on a major project located in Warrington. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating, implementing, and performing engineering activities for the project.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain close working relationships with Project Managers and Engineering teams.
- Assist in establishing and implementing project manpower needs and coordinating technical activities among disciplines.
- Ensure compliance with all statutory and licensing requirements.
- Conduct design of a technically sound, safe, and operable plant with high reliability.
- Prepare and issue Engineering Execution Plans, incorporating customer requirements, procedures, and standards.
- Compile lists from each discipline to develop a master document list for the project.
- Work with project stakeholders to develop subcontract and work package descriptions consistent with the contracting plan.
- Coordinate development of work-hour estimates and transfer information to Project Controls for engineering cost estimate preparation.
- Cooperate with other departments participating on the project.
- Schedule and coordinate meetings between Project Engineering, the customer, and outside groups.
- Keep project stakeholders informed of project progress, performance, and manpower utilization, highlighting delays, adverse trends, errors, and omissions.
- Ensure proper documentation of meetings, agreements, conversations, etc., affecting project conduct.
- Coordinate customers' engineering comments, approvals, and requests with functional activities of all disciplines.
- Encourage and assist in the technical and managerial development of subordinates.
- Coordinate Independent Engineering Design Reviews by discipline engineering management.
- Review engineering performance to ensure quality, conformance with conceptual design, and completeness of engineering tasks.
- Promptly review Design Change Notices (DCN), identify change order candidates, segregate cost collection, and assist the Project Manager in pertinent aspects of change order management.
Ideal candidates should meet the following qualifications:
- Hold a degree in a relevant Engineering discipline.
- Be Chartered or working towards Chartered status.
- Have held a similar engineering management position.
- Possess proven experience within a highly regulated construction sector (including commissioning).
- Have knowledge of safety case justification.
- Have a sound understanding of building regulations and planning submissions of CDM regulations.
- Currently hold SC or be prepared to go through the SC process.
