ROLE OVERVIEW
The Admissions Operations team is integral to ensuring that each of Generation UK & Ireland's programs successfully launches with a diverse and motivated group of learners. These skills bootcamps are vital for bridging skill gaps and addressing disparities in underrepresented sectors. Generation is dedicated to providing high-quality training, empowering our learners with the skills and confidence necessary for transformative careers.

The Admissions Operations Manager is tasked with converting qualified applicants into enrolled learners, overseeing our comprehensive digital recruitment processes, and ensuring that conversion rates align with the charity's core mission and funding stipulations. The primary objective is to recruit individuals who will benefit the most from our programs.

ABOUT GENERATION

Generation's mission is to train, coach, and support individuals in securing life-changing careers that would otherwise be out of reach.

As a UK registered charity, founded by McKinsey and Company, we deliver tailored programs to recruit, train, and place unemployed individuals into gainful employment. Our unique approach also addresses various employer challenges, including talent shortages, job performance issues, lack of diversity, and high turnover rates.

Since our global launch in 2015, we have rapidly expanded to become the world's largest demand-led employment initiative, successfully placing over 80,000 individuals into jobs while collaborating with more than 4,000 employer partners across 16 countries and 26 professions.

Generation UK&I currently operates training-to-employment programs in various regions, offering a range of tech bootcamps in partnership with organizations such as The Prince's Trust, Amazon Web Services, Multiverse, and Infinity Works, as well as programs focused on healthcare, the Green sector, and customer service roles.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Admissions and Selection

  • Provide extensive support to applicants throughout the application and selection journey, ensuring an exceptional experience for candidates from diverse backgrounds.
  • Organize and facilitate engaging sessions at critical points in the applicant journey, including online Q&A presentations and group tasks.
  • Manage multiple cohorts simultaneously, overseeing the recruitment design and applicant onboarding process to achieve key conversion metrics.
  • Collaborate with Learning and Partnerships teams to select candidates for each cohort, balancing the needs of learners and funders.
  • Utilize data to assess and forecast cohort viability, ensuring timely communication and contingency planning.
  • Deliver Admissions Operations processes in person as required by new programs and stakeholders.

2. Operations

  • Contribute to quarterly and annual operational planning in collaboration with the Head of Admissions Operations.
  • Work with the Head of Admissions Operations to enhance systems and processes, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Share responsibility for implementing operational tasks, including application portal management and candidate onboarding.
  • Employ tools such as Google Suite, Salesforce, PowerBI, and Smartsheets to track and manage cohort data effectively.

3. Reporting and Evaluation

  • Collaborate with the Head of Admissions Operations and other stakeholders to provide necessary data to funding partners.
  • Utilize feedback from learners and employers to systematically enhance our processes and overall learner experience.
  • Help develop an understanding of employment barriers faced by diverse groups and adapt our delivery model accordingly.
