Position Summary
This is an exceptional opportunity to contribute significantly by offering policy guidance to various stakeholders within DVLA.
As the Senior HR Policy Advisor, you will spearhead the initiatives of the HR Policy Unit, playing a crucial role in the development, execution, and assessment of policies for both the Department for Transport (DfT) and DVLA. You will proactively advance the creation of new policies and refine existing ones to align with legislative, governmental, and organizational requirements.
This position allows you to make a meaningful impact on DVLA and DfT through the formulation, evaluation, and enhancement of policies. The role is diverse and offers the chance to influence the agency significantly while pursuing a Chartered Institute of Personnel Development (CIPD) qualification, a recognized benchmark for HR and training professionals across the UK’s public, private, and charitable sectors.

- Assessing and evaluating policies post-implementation to guarantee consistent application and effectiveness.
- Communicating and securing consensus on new or modified policies among a range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Serving as a knowledgeable resource on policy and legislation for colleagues within and outside the Policy department.
- Fostering and maintaining constructive relationships across the HR team, Business Partners, Shared Services, and external stakeholders.

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are essential, along with the ability to provide sound advice. Experience in offering guidance and recommendations to internal stakeholders and building robust relationships across the organization is crucial.
You will be recognized as a trusted advisor, possessing the credibility to influence and challenge effectively to support policy decision-making. A passion for investigation and collaboration to deliver fair and balanced advice is highly valued.
