Main Responsibilities
As the Asphalt and Quarry Operations Maintenance Leader, you will oversee the maintenance section, ensuring optimal performance and quality. Your role will involve:

  • Managing and enhancing the efficiency of processes while maximizing resource utilization.
  • Setting and communicating performance targets and key performance indicators (KPIs) to your team through regular meetings and briefings.
  • Supervising all maintenance operations.
  • Conducting thorough maintenance checks and inspections on plant and vehicles.
  • Implementing basic maintenance practices, including monitoring levels, parts, and equipment conditions.
  • Performing and reviewing maintenance inspections, reporting any defects.
  • Tracking and reporting key successes and areas for improvement across the site.
  • Controlling production costs and regularly reviewing these with management.
  • Upholding health and safety regulations, ensuring compliance with all safety protocols.
  • Leading and developing a high-performing team, fostering engagement and collaboration.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Planning and producing materials to meet specifications while ensuring high-quality standards.

The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate for the Asphalt and Quarry Operations Maintenance Leader role will play a crucial part in advancing our engineering culture through continuous improvement initiatives. You should possess:

  • Experience in a similar heavy manufacturing environment as an Engineering or Maintenance Supervisor/Manager.
  • Knowledge of mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Experience with crushing, screening, and heavy plant equipment.
  • The ability to hold team members accountable for their work and quality.
  • Proficiency in computer applications, particularly MS Word and Excel.
  • Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies, including Lean and Six Sigma.
