Position Overview:
As a key member of the nursing team at Xander Group, you will play a vital role in our state-of-the-art eye care facility, focusing on surgical assistance and patient care in the operating theatre.

Key Responsibilities:
1. **Surgical Support:**
- Demonstrate proficient scrub skills for high-volume cataract procedures.
- Prepare and set up for vitrectomy surgeries, ensuring all necessary instruments are ready for use.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of Phaco machines and their instrumentation.

2. **Patient Care Management:**
- Accurately document patient health records, ensuring electronic and handwritten notes are up to date.
- Uphold the standards set by the Nursing and Midwifery Council, adhering to the code of practice.

3. **Professional Development:**
- Commit to ongoing professional development and clinical governance.
- Engage in the training and development of clinical staff and participate in clinical audits and research initiatives.

Qualifications:
- A nursing degree or equivalent qualification is essential.
- Substantial experience in theatre settings is required.
- Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council is mandatory.
- Experience in hospital eye services is preferred.
- Familiarity with clinical practices and advancements in optometry is necessary.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and computerized data management systems is expected.
