Job Title: Adult Education Tutor

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Adult Education Tutor to join our team in Fife Council. As a key member of our Adult Basic Education and ESOL team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality learning experiences to adult learners in our community.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a diverse range of learners, developing their literacy, numeracy, and ICT skills in a group context. You will be responsible for planning, delivering, and assessing learning needs and abilities, using a range of strategies to overcome barriers and agree an appropriate learning plan with learners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver literacy, numeracy, and ICT programmes to adult learners, young people, and families using a social practice approach.
  • Support learners with additional support needs, such as Dyslexia and Dyscalculia.
  • Manage learning plans and assess learner progress.
  • Establish and maintain good working relationships with learners, partners, and colleagues.
  • Travel between venues and work peripatetically to deliver learning in local communities.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Experience of delivering adult education programmes.
  • Awareness of how to support learners with additional support needs.
  • Good time management, organisational skills, and communication.
  • Flexible and adaptable approach.
  • IT skills and experience of online delivery.
  • Experience of delivering and assessing accredited learning.
