Position Overview

The Clinical Research Support Specialist will be an integral member of the Research and Innovation management team. Under the guidance of the R&I Manager, this role serves as a vital connection between various Clinical Management Groups, research sites, and external organizations, including universities and commercial entities.

In collaboration with sponsors and clinical teams, the Specialist will ensure that all research studies are meticulously prepared for necessary authorizations.

This position entails the implementation of national best practices in research management, ensuring that local systems and processes are integrated effectively for the benefit of all stakeholders.

The Specialist will identify and resolve feasibility challenges specific to the Trust, ensuring that studies are reviewed, established, and adequately resourced prior to authorization submission. This role will serve as the primary contact for investigators, providing essential guidance and support to facilitate access to high-quality research management functions.

Main Responsibilities

The Clinical Research Support Specialist will be accountable for the timely review, setup, and submission of studies for R&I authorization.

Staying informed about relevant legislation, the Specialist will implement national best practices in research management within the Trust.

As the day-to-day contact for investigators and external sponsors, the Specialist will provide necessary advice and support.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate adaptability, flexibility, and initiative. Strong communication skills are essential, along with the ability to engage with staff at all levels, exhibit excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and effective time management. Flexibility in working hours may be required.

Opportunities for professional development in various research specialties will be available, and the Specialist may be called upon to support other research areas as needed.
