An exciting opportunity has emerged to become part of a committed team within a network of educational institutions. These institutions are dedicated to assisting students with diverse needs, particularly those holding an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) who require alternatives to traditional schooling. They are in search of an Educational Support Assistant for a specialized setting designed for a small group of 8-10 students who thrive in a nurturing and supportive atmosphere.

Position Summary:
The organization is looking for a skilled and empathetic Educational Support Assistant who will collaborate closely with the Head of School and other staff members to ensure that the unique needs of each student are addressed, cultivating an environment where they can reach their full potential. Your role will be essential in aiding students to develop the skills and confidence necessary for either reintegration into mainstream education or a successful transition to Post 16 pathways.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver customized support to students with EHCPs, focusing on both their academic and emotional requirements.
  • Assist in managing and de-escalating challenging behaviors with patience and empathy.
  • Collaborate with the Head of School and other staff to devise and implement effective learning strategies.
  • Establish strong, trusting relationships with students to promote their personal and academic development.
  • Guide students in achieving their objectives, whether that involves reintegration into mainstream education or preparation for Post 16 pathways.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Demonstrated experience working with students exhibiting challenging behaviors.
  • Comprehension of the needs of students with EHCPs and the capability to adapt to fulfill these needs.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to foster positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • A dedication to creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive educational environment.

All compensation rates mentioned will include statutory holiday pay. This position is temporary, with the possibility of transitioning to a permanent role in the future.
