Job Title: Shift Operations Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Shift Operations Engineer to join our team at a leading food manufacturer. As a Shift Operations Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our production lines, packaging machinery, and automation systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out electrical and mechanical fault finding and repairs on high-speed food production lines, packaging machinery, automation systems, and associated equipment.
  • Complete structured Preventive Maintenance (PPM) tasks to ensure optimal equipment performance.
  • Work on motors, hydraulics, pneumatics, sensors, inverters, gearboxes, drives, and bearings.
  • Perform PLC electrical fault finding and diagnostics.
  • Order spare parts and materials as needed.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and project work.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date engineering technical documentation.

Requirements:

  • Multi-skilled engineer with a strong background in electrical and mechanical maintenance.
  • Time-served apprenticeship or equivalent experience.
  • Qualified to NVQ Level 3 or higher.
  • Experience working in a food manufacturing environment, preferably with high-speed production lines and machinery.
  • Strong electrical and mechanical fault finding and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience with hydraulics and pneumatics.
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement principles and practices.
