Job Description

Job Title: Shift Operations Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Shift Operations Engineer to join our team at Hunter Selection Limited. As a Shift Operations Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our food manufacturing equipment and production lines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out electrical and mechanical fault finding and repairs on high-speed food production lines, packaging machinery, automation and control systems, and associated equipment.
  • Complete structured Preventive Maintenance (PPM) tasks.
  • Work on motors, hydraulics, pneumatics, sensors, inverters, gearboxes, drives, and bearings.
  • Perform PLC electrical fault finding diagnostics.
  • Order spares and parts as needed.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and project work.
  • Maintain engineering technical documentation.

Requirements:

  • Be a multi-skilled engineer with a strong background in electrical and mechanical maintenance.
  • Hold a time-served apprenticeship and be qualified to NVQ Level 3 as a minimum.
  • Have experience working in a food manufacturing environment, preferably with high-speed production lines and machinery.
  • Be able to work on own initiative and sometimes unsupervised.
  • Have experience with hydraulics and pneumatics.
  • Be able to perform electrical fault finding and diagnostics on PLC systems.
  • Have experience working in a continuous improvement environment.
