About the Role:

As an Estimator, you will be a key member of the team, responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimations for a range of structural and architectural steel projects. Your work will be essential in the success of tenders, ensuring that all costs are accounted for in a clear and concise way for clients. You will be working closely with clients and suppliers, building and maintaining strong relationships.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Estimations: Prepare and submit accurate, competitive estimations based on project specifications and drawings.
  • Cost Analysis: Analyse project drawings and requirements, factoring in all material, labour, and overhead costs to provide clear and concise proposals.
  • Supplier Coordination: Obtain pricing from suppliers and subcontractors to ensure accurate costings and up-to-date market rates.
  • Risk Identification: Identify potential risks within project scope and propose mitigations to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Client Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients while actively seeking opportunities to engage new clients.
  • Deadline Management: Work effectively under tight deadlines to ensure all estimates are submitted on time and meet client expectations.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience as an Estimator within the metalwork industry, specifically within fabrication and installation processes.
  • A strong understanding of structural and architectural steel and construction practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings to prepare accurate estimations.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet strict deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills for client interaction and supplier coordination.
