Engineering and Hard Services Manager

A leading corporate banking and capital markets organization is seeking an experienced Engineering and Hard Services Manager to join their team in a dynamic and challenging role.
Main Purpose of the Role
Responsible for the operational management of hard facilities management services to the organization's London branch. Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and managing long-term strategies for engineering maintenance and infrastructural modernization, focusing on resilience, risk management, efficiency, performance, and cost control.
- Delivering the operation of all hard services managed service contracts and specialist suppliers to ensure the operation of the organization's built environment and critical engineering systems.
- Monitoring contractual KPIs and ensuring compliance with current and future legislation and statutory requirements on all building management systems.
- Directing, evaluating, and approving M&E designs provided by consultants and architects to ensure they meet the organization's requirements.
- Conducting regular meetings with Managed Service Providers and Data Centres stakeholders.
- Maintaining security concept documentation, contractor and tenant handbooks, utility metering reporting, CSR reporting, and other ad-hoc reporting as required.
- Attending and managing any critical or major infrastructure failures, power downs, witness testing, or supervising business-critical shutdowns as required, and acting in the capacity of an Emergency Officer in line with the organization's Business Continuity Planning guidelines and policies.
- Assisting with the coordination, development, and testing of disaster recovery plans.
- Conducting and regularly reviewing fire risk assessments for the organization.
- Advising on passive fire protection requirements in line with current regulations for the organization.
Key Requirements
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Professional qualification in Mechanical & Electrical Engineering.
- Vocational experience in Hard FM Services, engineering, building maintenance, energy management, or vendor management.
- Detailed knowledge of Health & Safety (IOSH).
- Strong understanding of facilities and operational procurement disciplines.
- Ability to manage employees, including outsourced functions, both on- and off-site.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills.
- Strategic insight, planning, problem-solving, and project management capabilities.
- Proven experience in operational risk management, financial management, and control.
