Purchasing Coordinator

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Purchasing Administrator to join our team at Itchy Feet Recruitment. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the procurement team by managing the day-to-day purchasing of materials, equipment, and services.
Key Responsibilities:- Purchasing Administration: Assist with the daily administration of the procurement process, including raising purchase orders and maintaining accurate records.
- Supplier Communication: Communicate with suppliers to obtain quotes, confirm delivery dates, and ensure orders are fulfilled on time.
- Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels and coordinate replenishments to avoid shortages.
- Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure all purchases comply with company policies and procedures, including the vetting and approval of suppliers.
- Dispute Resolution: Resolve any discrepancies in orders, invoices, or supplier issues promptly.
- Supplier Information Management: Keep supplier information, price lists, and contracts up to date in the company's system.
- Interdepartmental Collaboration: Liaise with other departments, such as production and finance, to ensure a smooth flow of goods and materials.
- Performance Analysis: Assist in reviewing supplier performance and help negotiate terms to secure cost savings.
- Reporting and Analysis: Generate and analyse purchasing reports, identifying key trends and performance indicators.
- Experience: Previous experience in a purchasing, procurement, or administrative role, preferably within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Organisational Skills: Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail, capable of managing multiple tasks.
- Communication and Negotiation Skills: Effective communication and negotiation skills, both written and verbal.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) with knowledge of procurement systems being advantageous.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Teamwork: Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a busy environment.
- Competitive Salary: Competitive salary of £25,000 - £30,000, depending on experience.
