Role Summary

As a Platform Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, constructing, and maintaining the foundational infrastructure, systems, and processes that support technology transformation initiatives. You will also champion the adoption of contemporary platforms and methodologies.

We seek proactive platform engineers with extensive knowledge of the Azure ecosystem to collaborate with delivery teams on exciting digital projects across various sectors.

As an Azure specialist, you will engage in small product teams alongside developers, architects, designers, analysts, and product owners to implement automation, tooling, and cloud infrastructure solutions.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess the expertise and confidence to define and support the Azure delivery platform in complex projects, typically working within multidisciplinary teams.

Key qualifications include:

  • Proven experience in designing, deploying, and managing Azure cloud environments.
  • Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, and AKS.
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform, ARM Templates, Helm, or Pulumi.
  • Proficiency in pipeline build and deployment tools such as Azure DevOps, TFS, or Jenkins.
  • Strong automation and scripting skills using tools like PowerShell, AZ CLI, Python, Bash, Ruby, or Groovy.
  • In-depth knowledge of configuration management technologies including DSC, Puppet, Chef, SaltStack, or Ansible.
  • Comprehensive understanding of logging and monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Azure Monitor, Azure Log Analytics, Azure App Insights, New Relic, or Datadog.
  • Familiarity with cloud platform design patterns and best practices.
  • Knowledge of common database and caching technologies, including Azure SQL, CosmosDB, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, MySQL/MariaDB, Memcache, or Redis.
  • Basic understanding of popular programming languages used in modern web application development, such as C#, JavaScript, TypeScript, Java, Go, or PHP.
  • Exposure to iterative/agile development methodologies and experience in facilitating team delivery through technology.
  • Experience with other cloud platforms and technologies is a plus.
