Lead Engineering Innovation

Innovate's client, a market leader in the Defence / Space industry, is seeking a visionary leader to drive engineering excellence and strategic growth. As Head of Engineering, you will be responsible for reviewing, analysing, and evaluating business procedures to improve day-to-day operations and ensure smooth processes.


Your Key Responsibilities:


  • Provide strategic direction and leadership across all aspects of Engineering, ensuring organisational goals and objectives are aligned.
  • Lead a multi-disciplinary team of engineers to deliver projects to time, cost, and quality.
  • Create a culture of excellence and accountability, inspiring team members to achieve their full potential and deliver exceptional results.
  • Support business development activities by participating in customer meetings, providing input into proposals, and identifying engineers to support conceptual designs.
  • Manage the R&D team to execute internal research to support programmes.
  • Manage the Engineering overhead budgets, including: training, engineering infrastructure, equipment, and R&D projects.
  • Collaborate with other departments to contribute to cross-functional excellence across programmes.

Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree in Electronic and Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Experience in the development of electronics and/or imaging systems.
  • Proven leadership experience overseeing large teams and complex organisations.
  • Ability to build and maintain engineering teams that can execute challenging projects.
  • Strong knowledge of electronics design and systems engineering.
