Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior or Principal Engineer to join our drainage team in the UK & Ireland. The successful candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering, with experience in drainage design and project management. The role will involve working on a variety of projects, from feasibility studies to detailed design, and will require strong technical skills, excellent communication, and leadership abilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage drainage design projects from feasibility to detailed design, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams to deliver projects to time, cost, and quality requirements.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and technicians, promoting a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
  • Contribute to the development of the drainage team, including mentoring and coaching junior engineers and technicians.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments, best practices, and emerging technologies, applying this knowledge to improve project delivery and team performance.
Requirements
  • Chartered Engineer status or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in drainage design and project management, preferably in a consultancy environment.
  • Strong knowledge of drainage design principles, standards, and regulations, including Sewers for Adoption, Sewers for Scotland, DMRB, and MCHW.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Microdrainage, and other civil engineering software packages.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including occasional travel and weekend work, as required.
