As a Principal Engineer specializing in Safety-Critical Software, you will play a pivotal role in a dynamic team dedicated to guiding clients in the development and verification of safety-critical software systems and programmable technologies. Your Responsibilities:
  • Lead safety-critical software teams, providing direction for consultancy and engineering services across various sectors, including Nuclear Power, Defence, Rail, and Aerospace.
  • Advise clients on the development and verification of safety-critical software systems to ensure compliance with engineering standards and regulatory frameworks.
  • Shape technical strategies, assisting teams in defining and executing delivery plans to address client challenges effectively.
  • Collaborate with project and bid managers to optimize time, cost, quality, and client satisfaction.
  • Mentor junior engineers, fostering their professional growth and competency.
  • Work alongside the technical assurance team to uphold the quality of deliverables in line with our high professional standards.
  • Support market sales teams in bidding for new projects.
Qualifications:

Ideal candidates will possess:
  • A degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Chartered status or progress towards it.
  • Expertise in the design, development, and testing of real-time, embedded software, particularly within safety-critical contexts.
  • Familiarity with standards applicable to safety or mission-critical industries, such as IEC 61508, DO-178C, and others.
  • Experience in developing and assuring Software, Programmable Logic Devices (PLD), and Complex Electronic Hardware (CEH) Systems.
