About the Role:
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Personal Assistant to support a young lady with autism and epilepsy in her daily life. The successful candidate will work closely with the individual and her family to ensure her needs are met and her goals are achieved.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the young lady with daily activities, including attending the ARC in Dumfries a few days per week
- Assist with personal care and hygiene needs
- Encourage and support the individual to participate in activities she enjoys, such as going for walks and bird watching
- Provide emotional support and companionship
- Work collaboratively with the family and other professionals to ensure the individual's needs are met
Requirements:
- Previous experience in social care and/or support services
- Medically and epilepsy trained (training can be provided)
- Patience, empathy, and a caring nature
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Driving license preferred
