As a Deputy Depot Night Manager at Smiths News, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our night shift. You will be responsible for supervising a team of staff, providing training and coaching, and identifying training needs. Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and manage a team of staff to ensure accurate and timely delivery of newspapers and magazines to our retailers.
  • Provide accurate reports to highlight any challenges or successes, and work closely with the management team to identify potential risks.
  • Maintain a high level of health and safety at all times, and ensure compliance with legislation and company policy.
  • Work to an annual set budget and forecast, and identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.

About You:

  • You will have a track record of success in a warehouse environment in a management position, with experience of working in a fast-paced environment and managing a large operation.
  • You will have outstanding communication skills, the ability to build relationships with all team members and management, and experience of planning and executing a night operation.
  • You will be tenacious and able to meet and exceed targets, with excellent business acumen and strong commercial and financial awareness.
