About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mental Health Professional to join our Adult Social Care team as an Approved Mental Health Practitioner. As an AMHP, you will play a critical role in supporting individuals with mental health issues and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out assessments and interventions under the Mental Health Act, including consideration of detention and use of Guardianship and Community Treatment Orders.
  • Work closely with Local Authority Adult Social Care Teams, providing advice and support on complex practice issues.
  • Contribute to Multi-Disciplinary Team working, safeguarding meetings, and joint visits with Social Care staff.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with health colleagues in Devon Partnership Trust.
Requirements
  • Registered Social Worker, Occupational Therapist, or Mental Health Nurse with a proven commitment to professional development.
  • Experience of working with people in mental health crises and a strong appreciation of the European Convention on Human Rights.
  • Ability to demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on recovery principles and awareness of the impact of mental disorder on individuals and their families.
