Position Overview

We are seeking a qualified Consultant Surgeon specializing in oncoplastic breast surgery to join our dedicated team at West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. This role is designed for a professional with a strong focus on breast and reconstructive surgical practices.

Role Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all facets of breast health in an outpatient environment. This includes:

  • Conducting breast clinics for new patients in a streamlined, one-stop format.
  • Managing follow-up appointments and post-operative care.
  • Participating in weekly multidisciplinary team meetings.
  • Demonstrating expertise in oncoplastic surgical techniques, including implant-based reconstruction.

The job plan encompasses a combination of surgical theatre time, outpatient clinics, administrative duties, and dedicated professional development time, totaling 10 Programmed Activities (PAs). Adjustments to the job plan may occur based on departmental and organizational needs.
