Job Overview
The Product Control team is an integral part of the Debt Capital Markets and Spread Investment Grade operations, located in London. This role is essential in ensuring compliance with the Code of Conduct, RBC Values, and Guiding Principles while upholding Privacy standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a crucial liaison between the Front Office (FO) and Financial Control, leveraging specialized product expertise to resolve daily P&L discrepancies promptly and ensure agreement with FO is documented and validated.
- Generate daily desk P&L reports, including insightful commentaries.
- Validate P&L through a daily risk-based breakdown, utilizing Greeks and new trade evaluations.
- Reconcile P&L with trader estimates to ensure accuracy.
- Maintain the integrity of the bank's financial records through thorough reconciliation and attestation processes.
- Possess a comprehensive understanding of product flows and trade booking accounting practices, providing support for detailed investigations into FOBO reconciliation tasks.
- Conduct ad-hoc analyses requested by the Front Office and senior management, including in-depth P&L reviews, Balance Sheet assessments, and other financial evaluations.
- Report consolidated results to senior management, incorporating necessary valuation adjustments.
- Ensure that the Product Control team and stakeholders are promptly informed of any revaluation matters that could impact subsequent activities.
- Produce ad-hoc reports as required by the Front Office and senior management.
- Participate in significant change management initiatives aimed at enhancing daily operational processes.
- Ensure that Product Control is recognized as an independent control function.
- Facilitate compliance with Regulatory and Audit requirements within Capital Markets.
- Provide leadership and input in the design, testing, and implementation of major infrastructural changes.
- Engage in key change management projects to optimize daily processes.
- Maximize efficiency gains through technological advancements and business process improvements.
Required Skills
Expertise in Accounting, Business Analytics, Financial Accounting Systems, General Ledger Management, and Group Problem Solving.
