Supplier Relationship and Sourcing Manager

Salary – Circa £40,000

This role presents an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and professional individual with the necessary expertise to effectively source, manage, and enhance partnerships with key suppliers in the UK Health & Protection sector.

Our Procurement and Outsourcing division is responsible for acquiring and overseeing third-party suppliers for the UK Health & Protection business, safeguarding Aviva against commercial, operational, and regulatory risks while delivering substantial value to both Aviva and our clients. The Supplier Relationship and Sourcing Managers will establish a standardized method for sourcing, onboarding, and managing our third-party suppliers, ensuring compliance with Aviva Group Standards. You will also oversee the effective implementation and operational success of our supplier oversight framework, which is also aligned with Aviva Group standards.

Key Responsibilities:

The ideal candidates will be skilled in cultivating and maintaining strong relationships across the organization, leveraging their influence and expertise to engage stakeholders and garner support. Experience in mentoring colleagues and peers in the adoption of best practices in procurement and supplier management will be advantageous.

A solid understanding of the end-to-end procurement lifecycle is essential, with the ability to demonstrate its relevance to stakeholders and the broader organization. You will be expected to connect core business objectives, such as delivering exceptional customer service, to your sourcing practices and the management of our selected suppliers.

Desired Skills and Experience:

Proven experience in insurance, procurement, financial services, or supply chain management, with a focus on sourcing and supplier relationship management, ideally including leadership and coaching roles. Familiarity with sourcing and supplier relationship management processes and frameworks, including contract performance management and supplier risk management techniques. Experience in managing significant outsourced relationships and commercial or change initiatives. Strong negotiation skills. Previous experience in healthcare and/or protection sectors would be beneficial.
