Job Description

Job Title: Bulk Haulage Driver

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Bulk Haulage Driver to join our team at Gregory Distribution. As a Bulk Haulage Driver, you will be responsible for delivering and collecting bulk goods, including scrap metals, using a curtain-sided or flatbed trailer.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver and collect bulk goods, including scrap metals, using a curtain-sided or flatbed trailer.
  • Use a handheld PDA to complete paperwork and manage delivery and collection processes.
  • Plan routes on a day-to-day basis to ensure efficient and safe transportation of goods.
  • Deal with customers face-to-face and over the phone to provide excellent customer service.
  • Keep in regular contact with the transport team to update on progress and manage customer expectations.
  • Attend regular training sessions to maintain and improve skills and knowledge.

Requirements:

  • Must be able to have regular nights away from home.
  • Must hold a UK Class 1 CE Licence.
  • Hold a current DCPC Card and Digital Tachograph Driver Card.
  • Be passionate about providing excellent customer service.
  • Working to deadlines.
  • Confident, polite, and a team player.
  • Good geographical knowledge.
  • Due to the nature of the role, applicants must be fit, flexible, hardworking, and self-motivated.
