About the Role:
Chefs Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our client's team in Daventry, Northamptonshire. As a key member of the kitchen team, you will be responsible for assisting the Head Chef in the day-to-day running of the kitchen, ensuring that all dishes are prepared to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Head Chef in menu planning, food preparation, and kitchen management
- Supervise and train junior kitchen staff to ensure high standards of food quality and presentation
- Manage kitchen inventory, including ordering and stock control
- Ensure compliance with food safety and health and safety regulations
- Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to maintain a positive and productive work environment
Requirements:
- Minimum 1 year's experience as a Sous Chef in a similar restaurant or dining pub
- Competent in creating innovative dishes with fresh, locally sourced, seasonal produce
- Experience in menu costing and controlling wastage
- Food Hygiene and Health and Safety knowledge and certificates
- Ability to prioritize and manage workloads, effectively coping with pressured and high-volume service
- Solid understanding of stock management
- Passion for sourcing quality fresh produce and management of your supply base
- Enthusiasm to help the Head Chef empower and develop your team through mentoring and training at all levels
- Eye for detail and passion for making dishes look almost as good as they taste
- Driven individual, always striving to improve and move the business forward
- Passionate about great-tasting, quality fresh food both in and out of work
- Flexible and display a proactive, 'Can Do' attitude
