Job Title: Classroom Assistant - Special Education Needs

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Classroom Assistant to join our team at the Education Authority. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and other support staff to provide support to children with special educational needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized support to children with special educational needs
  • Assist teachers with lesson planning and implementation
  • Support children with daily living skills, such as toileting and feeding
  • Communicate effectively with parents and other professionals
  • Participate in staff meetings and training sessions
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 3 months' experience working with children with special educational needs
  • Level 2 childcare qualification or equivalent
  • Ability to work flexibly and creatively to meet the needs of children
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Desirable Criteria:
  • Experience working with children with autism or other special needs
  • Level 3 qualification in special educational needs or equivalent
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Selection Process:

The selection process will involve a written application, followed by an interview with a panel of staff. The successful candidate will be required to undergo an Enhanced Disclosure of Criminal Background check.
