We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Biomedical Scientist to join our team at East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust. As a Specialist Biomedical Scientist, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality pathology services to our patients.
Key Responsibilities- Contribute to the development and implementation of quality management systems to ensure compliance with UKAS accreditation standards.
- Train and mentor less experienced members of staff to develop their skills and knowledge.
- Validate and authorize laboratory results, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Participate in the day-to-day management of stock control and usage, including maintaining blood transfusion and haematology stock levels and records.
- Resolve complex equipment or process problems, and perform manual, semi-automated, and fully automated laboratory investigations.
Our pathology department is part of the collaborative East Coast Pathology Network, and we are committed to delivering innovative and high-performing pathology services that meet the needs of our patients and service users.
Person Specification- HCPC registered
- Biomedical Science Degree or equivalent
- Additional appropriate specialist qualification if required
- Evidence of Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
- Appropriate Post-Registration IBMS Specialist Diploma or IBMS Diploma in Biomedical Science
- European Computer Driving Licence or equivalent
- Previous relevant experience of working in the NHS
- Previous experience of line managing staff
