Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Compliance Officer to ensure the group's adherence to FCA regulatory requirements and implement our FCA compliance and risk management framework. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying, analyzing, and explaining regulatory topics and themes, advising the business on key developments, and liaising with the Financial Ombudsman Service as needed.

This role is critical in maintaining the group's regulatory compliance and requires a strong understanding of the FCA's approach to regulation and its expectations. The Compliance Officer will hold the Compliance Oversight (CF10) function, demonstrating competence and maintaining it to the regulator's satisfaction.

About You

The ideal candidate will possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to distill complex rules and guidance into clear, concise communications for diverse audiences. Strong analytical and numerical skills are also essential, as is the ability to manage multiple tasks and work with minimal supervision.

The successful candidate will have a strong drive to improve FCA compliance across the business, coupled with the personal gravitas to establish credibility with colleagues and customers. A minimum of 4 years' experience in an FCA regulated insurance/financial services environment or an audit-type role is required, with in-depth knowledge of the UK regulatory framework and the insurance sector.

Key responsibilities include designing and delivering FCA Compliance and risk management frameworks, conducting compliance and risk gap analysis, and successfully addressing any identified issues. Some project management experience and the ability to work away from the office, including overnight stays, are also beneficial.

Insurance experience is beneficial but not essential, as full training will be provided to the successful candidate. The role offers a competitive salary of £65,000 per annum, negotiable depending on experience.
