The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manager to join our team at KPMG. As a Manager in our Energy Regulation team, you will play a key role in contributing to the success of our energy networks business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development of strategic plans and initiatives for our energy networks business.
  • Work closely with sector and subject matter experts to stay up-to-date on Ofgem's RIIO price controls and wider regulatory framework.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key clients across the sector, as well as with other advisors.
  • Apply a structured strategic approach to problem-solving, drawing on established economic principles, while thinking creatively.
  • Manage projects from conception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality results.
  • Coach and mentor junior staff on specific projects, providing guidance and support to help them grow and develop.

The Person

We are looking for someone who is passionate about learning and developing in the sector, with a strong commitment to delivering high-quality results. You will have experience in the utilities sector, either in industry, at a regulator, or as a consultant, ideally with energy network sector experience.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of regulatory frameworks for utility companies, micro-economics, and regulatory finance.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think creatively and bring new insights to the table.
  • Strong report writing, Excel, and PowerPoint skills, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to present to clients and stakeholders, with a high level of confidence and professionalism.
  • Highly motivated and ambitious, with a strong desire to take advantage of opportunities and grow within the company.
