Job Overview

The Project Engineering Package Coordinator is responsible for overseeing internal teams engaged in a specific engineering package. This role involves managing all activities related to the package to ensure the successful completion of the project, focusing on technical, industrial, and financial dimensions while meeting the expectations of the Project Manager and fulfilling customer requirements. The coordinator is accountable for delivering the package within the agreed timeline, budget, and quality standards. Their responsibilities span from the authorization phase to the closure of the package, encompassing aspects such as organization, scheduling, effort allocation, and financial management.

  • Familiarity with financial management, workload planning, and risk assessment.
  • Understanding of the bidding process.

Key Responsibilities

As a Project Engineering Package Coordinator at Thales, your responsibilities will include:

  • Organizing and planning the engineering package.
  • Collaborating with the team to draft the Package Description based on project structure and customer requirements.
  • Identifying deliverables, milestones, and interdependencies with other packages.
  • Establishing schedules and estimates based on feasible solutions, while identifying necessary resources and their availability.
  • Initiating the risk and opportunity register and establishing the package baseline using relevant project management tools.
  • Defining cost structures, resource profiles, supplier selection, and relevant metrics.
  • Developing pertinent plans within the package scope.
  • Executing the package effectively.
  • Meeting package objectives and taking corrective actions for any deviations from the baseline or objectives.
  • Identifying and resolving issues, managing risks and opportunities, and implementing mitigation strategies.
  • Reviewing documents, specifications, schedules, and estimates with peers as necessary.
  • Monitoring and consolidating all deliverables.

Stakeholder Engagement

The role involves:

  • Leading the team and/or suppliers to ensure the successful execution of the package while adhering to all commitments.
  • Participating in and contributing to all relevant project reviews as outlined in the Project Management Plan.
  • Acting as a delegate for the Project Manager when required.
  • Representing Thales for subcontracted work as necessary.
