Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Project Engineer to join our team at Shanahan Engineering. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering project KPIs and ensuring the effective implementation of project plans and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Execution: Develop and implement project execution plans, quality plans, and associated procedures to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery.
  • Safety Management: Promote and enforce safety functions and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Contract Management: Prepare and issue technical and contract correspondence, compile records, and submit claims to validate client and subcontractor entitlements.
  • Pre-Qualification: Conduct pre-qualification and short-listing of contractors and consultants to ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • Site Budgeting: Assist with the planning, preparation, and development of site budgets and accounting procedures.
  • Subcontractor Management: Liaise and negotiate with subcontractors on matters of progress, coordination, entitlement, and interpretation of contract documents.
  • Contract Payments: Review, evaluate, and approve contract payments and change orders.
  • Site Inspections: Conduct regular site inspections and meetings to determine project status, provide directions, coordinate works, and solve technical problems.
  • Quality Assurance: Apply QA/QC requirements according to field quality programs, I&T programs, and I&T plans.
  • Method Statements: Ensure that method statements and risk assessments are prepared for all relevant tasks.
  • Reporting: Provide a weekly report documenting problems, changes, schedule modifications, performance, etc.
  • Claim Management: Ensure proper claim management and settlement procedures.
  • Training and Development: Provide training and development opportunities for discipline personnel.
  • Subcontractor Administration: Responsible for on-site administration of subcontractors and direct-hired labor.
  • Strategy and Coordination: Advise senior project team members on strategy to ensure project progression and coordinate I&C works to avoid conflicts and minimize delays.
  • Budget Management: Manage budgets, negotiate claims, and settle disputes.
  • Program Requirements: Identify program requirements and plan facilities in cooperation with the balance of the construction team.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Make data-focused decisions to drive project success.
