We are currently seeking a talented Automation Design Engineer to join our team in Wrexham, North Wales. Our automation department is at the forefront of Brother's drive to automate both new and remanufacturing processes worldwide.

About the Role

As an Automation Design Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and improving our production lines and equipment of the future. You will be involved at every stage from Design, Development, Build, Commissioning, and Improvement.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop detailed designs using CAD software.
  • Conduct research and analysis to ensure design feasibility and optimization.
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation of designs, modifications, and project progress.
  • Prepare project costings including BOM's.
  • Perform testing and validation to ensure design performance and reliability.
  • Provide support for modifications / design changes found at Build / Commissioning stages of the project.
  • Support / troubleshoot Existing Equipment both in BIUK and other group companies.
About You

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Automation Design Engineer with a strong background in Mechanical Engineering or a similar subject. You should have a solid understanding of industrial automation and manufacturing processes.

  • Education to a degree level or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or a similar subject.
  • Experience in equipment design/development.
  • Strong Knowledge of using 3D CAD.
  • Knowledge of Industrial automation and manufacturing processes.
