Structures Engineer Role

We are seeking a skilled Structures Engineer to join our team at Sarto Thomas Ltd. As part of our long-term partnership with Cambridgeshire County Council, this professional services based role will encompass refurbishment, strengthening, and new build projects, working as part of a larger projects team covering planning, design, construction, and project management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough inspections and surveys of existing highway structures to identify potential issues and areas for improvement.
  • Design and assess bridges and other highway structures to ensure they meet safety and regulatory standards.
  • Prepare detailed construction drawings, specifications, and safety documentation to support project delivery.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Requirements:

  • Civil Engineering degree (Bachelors or Masters) from a recognized institution.
  • Proven experience in bridge design and proficiency with software like LUSAS and Superstress.
  • Knowledge of highway standards and Eurocodes, with the ability to apply this knowledge in a practical setting.
