Lead Pharmacist – Paediatrics and Neonates with Maternity

We are seeking an experienced and skilled pharmacist to join our team as a Lead Pharmacist – Paediatrics and Neonates. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and forward-thinking trust, providing high-quality clinical pharmacy services to our patients.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage the day-to-day delivery of clinical pharmacy services to the Paediatric and Neonatal units.
- Develop and evaluate clinical pharmacy services to meet the needs of the speciality within the Families Division.
- Provide a framework for the safe, effective, and economic use of medicine resources within the specialist clinical area, utilising sound medicines management and clinical governance principles.
- Develop and maintain highly specialist knowledge in medicines used in the treatment of children and neonates, and be a resource for the department/Trust within the specialist clinical pharmacy area.
- Ensure a consistently high level of pharmaceutical service is provided in line with service objectives.
- Monitor, audit, and evaluate clinical pharmacy service provision to the specialist area and provide regular feedback.
- Contribute to the Antimicrobial stewardship programme at Blackpool Teaching Hospitals under the direction of the Lead Pharmacist Antimicrobials.
- Prescribe in line with Trust policies and procedures (Subject to necessary qualification).
- Vocational master's degree in pharmacy.
- 12 months pre-registration training and experience.
- Registered with the GPhC.
- Postgraduate qualification in Clinical Pharmacy.
- Previous paediatric or neonatal pharmacy experience and expertise.
- Good interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Good organisation and time management skills.
- Good clinical pharmacy knowledge – maintains a broad level of pharmacy practice.
- Knowledge of neonatal nutrition and the technical aspects of TPN provision.
- Ability to work on own initiative and effectively as part of a team.
- Ability in problem-solving.
- Ability to organise and motivate oneself and others efficiently.
- Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of safe pharmacy practice.
- Evaluates quality of own work.
- Ability to think strategically.
- Applies sound professional judgement to legal and ethical issues.
