We are seeking an experienced and skilled pharmacist to join our team as a Lead Pharmacist – Paediatrics and Neonates with Maternity. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and forward-thinking environment, where you will have the chance to develop and lead clinical pharmacy services in a specialist area.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage the day-to-day delivery of clinical pharmacy services to the Paediatric and Neonatal units.
- Develop and evaluate clinical pharmacy services to meet the needs of the specialist clinical area within the Families Division.
- Provide a framework for the safe, effective, and economic use of medicine resources within the specialist clinical area, utilising sound medicines management and clinical governance principles.
- Develop and maintain highly specialist knowledge in medicines used in the treatment of children and neonates, and be a resource for the department/Trust within the specialist clinical pharmacy area.
- Ensure a consistently high level of pharmaceutical service is provided in line with service objectives.
- Monitor, audit, and evaluate clinical pharmacy service provision to the specialist area and provide regular feedback.
- Contribute to the Antimicrobial stewardship programme at Blackpool Teaching Hospitals under the direction of the Lead Pharmacist Antimicrobials.
- Prescribe in line with Trust policies and procedures (Subject to necessary qualification).
We are looking for a pharmacist with:
- Vocational master's degree in pharmacy.
- 12 months pre-registration training and experience.
- Registered with the GPhC.
- Postgraduate qualification in Clinical Pharmacy.
Desirable qualifications include:
- MSc in Clinical Pharmacy
- Management/Leadership qualification
- Membership of The Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain.
- Prescribing qualification
