Job Overview

Position: Associate Structural Engineer

Location: Leeds

Calibre Search is collaborating with a renowned Engineering Consultancy seeking to appoint an Associate to enhance their expanding Leeds office. This office delivers multidisciplinary design and engineering services across various sectors, including Education, Commercial, Residential, Airports, Defence, Energy, Civil Infrastructure, and Rail.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a Chartered Civil/Structural Engineer with a strong history of successfully delivering design projects from initial feasibility through to practical completion.
  • Provide technical direction for client projects, ensuring high standards of delivery.
  • Demonstrate extensive postgraduate experience in major structural engineering projects, focusing on low embodied carbon solutions.
  • Utilize in-depth knowledge of design codes and standards relevant to structural engineering.
  • Manage and coordinate inputs from other disciplines, taking financial responsibility for structural fees on projects.

Team Development:

As a natural leader, you will foster the technical growth of the structural engineering team, mentoring and motivating colleagues while developing strong client relationships. You will identify opportunities for business development and support bidding activities, demonstrating a commitment to innovative, cost-effective, and sustainable solutions.

Client Engagement:

Establish and maintain relationships with key clients and stakeholders, ensuring all necessary technical governance is upheld. You will also oversee the line management and professional development of the structural engineering team.
