About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and versatile individual to join our team as an Escort/Fabric Operative at HMP Bure, a Cat C & male prison. As a key member of our Facilities Maintenance Team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and safe operation of the prison.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the maintenance and repair of prison facilities, including electrical, plumbing, and carpentry tasks.
  • Work alongside experienced colleagues to provide a safe and secure environment for prisoners, staff, and visitors.
  • Contribute to the upkeep of the prison's infrastructure, including cleaning, painting, and other tasks.
  • Collaborate with the Facilities Management Team to identify and resolve maintenance issues.
  • Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.
Requirements
  • Experience of working in a prison environment or a similar setting.
  • Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Previous experience of working within a building fabric or hard FM environment.
  • Up-to-date First Aid at Work qualification.
  • Level 2 qualification in English and Maths.
  • Good Health & Safety knowledge.
  • Excellent organisational, time management, and people skills.
