About the Role:

We are a leading provider of recruitment services, and we are currently looking for a skilled Freight Ledger Clerk to join our team. As a Freight Ledger Clerk, you will be responsible for managing the financial aspects of our clients' freight operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Management: You will be responsible for reconciling supplier and customer statements, allocating payments, and sending out remittance advices and customer statements.
  • General Ledger Entries: You will be responsible for making general ledger entries, including accruals and prepayments, on our SUN Systems.
  • Bank Reconciliations: You will be responsible for performing daily and monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Payment Processing: You will be responsible for preparing the monthly BACs payment and ensuring suppliers are paid on time.
  • Accounts Payable/Billing/Accounts Receivable: You will be responsible for assisting with accounts payable, billing, and accounts receivable when required.
  • Auditing and Compliance: You will be responsible for auditing the Purchase Ledger monthly for cost analysis and resolving any issues.

Requirements:

  • Experience: You will need at least 5 years of experience in accounts, preferably in a freight forwarding environment.
  • Knowledge and Skills: You will need knowledge of book-keeping, excellent attention to detail, and experience dealing with foreign currency invoices.
  • Education and Certifications: You will need a 5-year checkable history and a clean DBS.
  • Technical Skills: You will need to be PC literate.

Working Hours:

  • Monday-Friday: 0900-1730 (office-based)
