About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Collections Development Archivist to collaborate with our company archivist on all aspects of collections development, including policy and procedure review, accessioning, and record acquisition.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Appraisal and Accessioning: Work with the company archivist to review and adapt current collections development processes and practice, ensuring that all records of historical value are transferred to the archive for processing.
  2. Stakeholder Communications and Advocacy: Liaise with the company records management team to implement a retention schedule based accessions workflow, promoting effective collections development on a global scale.
  3. Collections Development: Understand the role of the archive within the business and work on solutions to current challenges in collections development, ensuring the long-term preservation and accessibility of our historical records.
About the Department

The abrdn archive collects, preserves, and promotes the history of abrdn, its previous entities, and subsidiaries. Our team is responsible for acquiring, cataloguing, preserving, and making available physical and digital material to internal and external stakeholders.
